Pryce Pulls Away

Another exhilerating day of racing here at PZM Rally Poland draws to a close with Welsh driver Osian Pryce topping the Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy event table, finishing 43.8sec ahead of Jon Armstrong and nearly two minutes ahead of Gus Greensmith.

Earlier in the day Armstrong and Pryce were trading blows, taking alternate stage times. The afternoon however belonged to current Trophy leader Pryce as he took three of the four scratch points available, bringing his total to seven.

Unfortunately for Armstrong he was caught in the dust of another car for a large proportion of SS14 and subsequently lost 39sec, which was enough to relinquish the lead.

Mechanical issues troubled English driver Greensmith for much of the day but he showed great maturity to get the car through the rough stages and limit the amount of time lost. He currently holds a podium place but Bernardo Sousa is hot on his heels.

Sousa has progressively improved over the course of the event. He claimed the remaining stage point on the third pass of Mikolajki Arena on SS 17 and consistently featured in the top three of this afternoon’s stages.

Conditions change drastically tomorrow with heavy rain forecast throughout the region so it’s all to race for.
