Armstrong Leads a British Top Three

Armstrong Leads a British Top Three

Jon Armstrong leads the way here in Rally Poland on the first full day of action. He heads Gus Greensmith by just +2.4sec and Osian Pryce by +9.3sec. On the longest stage to be run so far, 21.14km of fast open roads, less than 1.5sec separated the top three crews.

Armstrong from Northern Ireland leads the way in the stage wins tally, winning three of the five to be contested so far. Keen to make up for his misfortunes in Portugal, Armstrong has found a good rhythm here in these early stages.

English pilot Greensmith won the opening stage, a short blast round Mikolajki Arena. The young hopeful has been conducting extensive tests in the run up to this event in an attempt to seal victory on the loose sandy surfaces.

The leading British trio is completed by Welshman and current Trophy leader Pryce. With the first instalment of prize drives to be decided off the back of this event, Pryce is looking to cement his place at the top of the table. He took a step towards that goal by setting a fastest stage time on the first pass of Stare Juchy.
